Academician Steve Chen is a world-famous expert on supercomputing. His team developed the first scientific paralled vector supercomputer, CRAYXMP/2 and XMP/4, high-performance computer with general CPU for large corporations, and the first 128-blade supercomputer. He also developed TONBU, an Internet-based, dynamic, cost-effective intermediate software that allows inter-enterprise collaborative work, and the world's first supercomputer-based, global-network-induced power-grid-like super information web.
